First Steps Playgroup

Tuesday 10:00am – 11:30am (during school term)

Weekly Cost:
Donation $2 a child or $3 a family

First Steps Playgroup prides itself on being a loving, caring environment in which parents can share in their child’s play without worrying about the mess!!
It is a place for children and parents alike to form friendships with families in their community. It is a safe environment that encourages play and aims to meet individual needs.

During the session, parents have access to free tea, coffee and biscuits. For morning tea, fresh fruit is provided for both the children and parents.

Children are offered a wide range of free play activities, including outside; sandpit, cubby house, slippery dip, gardening, bikes and more, and inside; puzzles, playdough, painting, trains, home corner, drawing, reading, building, dressups, and a weekly craft activity, just to name a few. Parents are encouraged to help their children engage safely with materials and others during this time.

Due to food allergies, the playgroup is a NUT FREE ZONE! And parents are encouraged to bring a morning snack for their child only. Children are free to eat when ever they like through out the morning.

Towards the end of the session, the group gathers together for a group music session, where once again parents are encouraged to interact with their children while singing and dancing. This time may include dancing with teddies, using musical instruments, bean bags, scarfs and more! This is a great way to mark the end of the session as we all sing good bye to one another, ready to meet up again the following week.

Enrolment is a must, however weekly bookings are not necessary, we are a relaxed group of supporting parents, if you can’t make it along for 10am but can get here before 11:30am we would love to see you!

Contact the church office or phone Katrie on 0401 827 731 for more details or come along on the day. We look forward to meeting you soon.
